Royal Plaza on Scotts Hotel, Singapore
I went to Singapore for the first time in January last year - but only to meet and hangout with friends. So I never really had the luxury of time to explore around and get the feel of a first-time tourist. But in December of that same year, the universe conspired and brought me back to Singapore; this time I was able to really see the real Singapore. :D
We stayed at the luxurious Royal Plaza on Scotts Hotel, one of the most renowned 5-star hotels in Singapore, located at the center of the city and surrounded by shopping centers, restaurants and key landmarks of the Lion City. In short, a very strategic location for tourists and shopaholics, especially for first time visitors. In fact, it is just a 5-minute walk from Orchard MRT station.
As you enter, you'll be welcomed by the grandeur hotel lobby with its famous giant candle art displayed at the center. The hotel, by the way holds the title "Asia Pacific's Best Independent Hotel" for six consecutive years already by TTG Travel Awards.

The rooms look elegant. It has modern furnishings, comfortable bed and a huge bathroom. We got the Superior Room with the basic 5-star features, free wifi internet, mini bar and an in-room coffee machine. What I like most is the mini bar and the various free complimentary hot drinks! :D
I also loved the buffet breakfast at Carousel, the hotel's award-winning buffet restaurant. It is divided into dining sections - there's a sushi bar, a bakery, buffet counters that serve Asian and Western cuisine, a salad, and a dessert section.

The turkey ham is my favorite! Fyi, food at Carousel is prepared in Halal-certified kitchens for our Muslim brothers. Aside from the food, my two thumbs up for the excellent and friendly service by the staff.
I would certainly recommend Royal Plaza on Scotts especially if you are visiting Singapore with your family. The wonderful experience I've had at RP is something that will keep me coming back again and again. Thanks for an unforgettable second time in Singapore! I'll be back soon! :)
